Watson is a handsome young yellow Labrador who has received extensive professional training and was originally being prepared for service-dog work. While we have decided that the service-dog path is not the best fit for him, Watson has an impressive foundation and is ready for a special home that will appreciate just how much training has already been invested in him.<\/p>\n\n

At just 8 months old, Watson is completely obedience trained<\/strong> and has learned skills that take many owners months\u2014or even years\u2014to establish.<\/p>\n\n

\u2022 Fully potty trained
\u2022 Loads into a vehicle
\u2022 Rides calmly in the car
\u2022 Good with other dogs
\u2022 Comfortable and well behaved in public
\u2022 Has experience behaving appropriately in food establishments
\u2022 Will quietly place underneath a chair or table
\u2022 Allows his nails to be trimmed
\u2022 Allows his teeth to be brushed<\/p>\n\n

Watson has had a tremendous amount of time, structure and professional training invested in him. He is well beyond what you would normally expect from a young Labrador and would be a wonderful choice for someone looking for a trained companion without starting from the puppy stage.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

One area Watson is still working on:<\/strong>
Watson can be uncertain or skittish around some men. He isn’t finished developing his confidence in this area, and his new owner should be willing to continue positive, controlled exposure with men. Our plan was to begin taking him to places such as Home Depot with high-value treats and create repeated positive experiences so he learns that unfamiliar men are nothing to worry about.<\/p>\n\n

We want to be completely transparent about this because finding the right home for Watson is more important than simply finding him a home.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

For the right person, Watson offers an incredible head start: a beautiful young Labrador with extensive obedience training, excellent household manners, public experience and a strong foundation already in place.<\/p>\n\n
